To help another

I continue to see a stagnant economy and no job growth. People everywhere are desperate for some sort of relief. Unemployment benefits are running out and a lot of politicians are only thinking of their fat pockets. I have a unique perspective on all of this because I work at a Bankruptcy firm. Day in and day out I hear the tragic stories of people who are losing their livelihood, health, homes. I have sat through their tears, anger and frustration because the system is not only holding them down but it is now pushing them away. Many of these mortgage companies give the consumer the run around for months and even years! I get to hear these stories when the individual has reached their wits end and needs help from a lawyer. I'm not sure what the correct word to use is but it is very sad that once the mortgage companies hear that there is a lawyer representing the borrower, they change their tune. All the sudden a process that took two years for an average consumer can be remedied in weeks. It is horrifying.

As for the pups--still playful, still happy, still adorable!
Here is a video of Onix and Simba fighting over a treat. CLASSIC!

Terrible Twos?!

Simba is a smart dog. He graduated intermediate training at a very young age and learned to ring a bell to go outside. He also learned all the basic and not so basic commands very quickly. Now, he has started to abuse his intellect. He rings the bell at all hours of the night and he chews on the bed post just to make sure that we are awake and playing with him. There is no way to keep him in a crate because he cries and shuffles the whole time. There is no rest for the wicked! I am hoping that his revenge and rebellious stage ends sooner rather than later.

Play Dead!

I've already learned that Buddha likes to take a chomp out of his brother Simba and pull on his leash as well. I didn't know that Mr. Buddha also likes to sleep on his back with his tongue hanging out. For this reason, it was very easy to teach him to play dead.

He loves to please his mom but sadly for the poor pup; his mom had to disappoint him and start working. Two small children and a full time job. Hope the boys don't get TOO mad at me...
